# Critique & Self-Improvement Loop

Conventional AI generation follows a linear workflow: a prompt is submitted, a response is generated, and execution ends. While suitable for isolated tasks, this approach often produces inconsistent gameplay, incomplete systems, visual defects, and implementation errors when applied to complex game development.

GT Protocol replaces this linear process with an autonomous critique and self-improvement loop.

Rather than accepting the first generated result, specialised evaluation agents continuously inspect every component produced throughout the development lifecycle. Gameplay mechanics, source code, level design, visual assets, audio, performance, and overall user experience are analysed against predefined quality objectives before any output is approved.

When issues are detected, the framework does not restart the entire generation process. Instead, evaluation agents identify the specific components requiring improvement and return structured feedback to the AI Orchestration Engine. The orchestration engine selectively schedules new execution tasks for only the affected agents while preserving validated outputs generated during previous iterations.

This selective refinement process dramatically reduces generation time while continuously improving overall quality. Every refinement cycle benefits from accumulated project context, allowing GT Protocol to progressively optimise gameplay, resolve implementation issues, improve visual consistency, and strengthen player experience without unnecessary regeneration.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://gameterminal.gitbook.io/gameterminal-docs/core-infrastructure/overview/agent-development-framework/critique-and-self-improvement-loop.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
